Just to give you fair warning, this will not be a long post. I've perfected the art of procrastination and ya'll get to see the facade of productivity that constitues my new found art. I haven't posted in like 10 months, but I choose the week before finals at midnight because I don't want to start my two papers or test studying or even get some much needed sleep. I want to procrastinate. So, here I am. Writing a blog post about writing a blog post. I promise (I will now have blogging accountability among my college friends), that I will post more. For now though, I must study. But before I go I will leave you with a quote:
People who do not know the Lord ask why in the world we waste our lives as missionaries. They forget that they too are expending their lives ... and when the bubble has burst, they will have nothing of eternal significance to show for the years they have wasted. ~ Nate Saint
Look at the Heavens
When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him? Psalm 8:3-4
About Me
- Sarah
- Florida, United States
- Well let's see... I love the Lord my Savior. I just graduated from high school and I was just accepted to the college of my dreams! If I can get the money together, I'll be going there and majoring in government this fall. So, I love our American government. I love being politically active. God has really given my a passion to care for orphans. I hope to get married and have kids one day as well as adopt a few kids. My main goal is to glorify God in all that I do. I hope that through my blog I can show you more of Him.

The Beauty of Worship
I love worship. Whether it's listening to my iPod, or worshipping at church on Sunday morning, or worshipping with thousands of people at a conference, I love worship. It's often my favorite part of a church service. When I was in Haiti, the worship on Sunday morning was one of my favorite things. They would sing part of a song in English and then part in Creole. If I remember correctly, I knew all of the songs. It was so wonderful to be able to sing in English while all the kinds were singing in Creole. It was such a beautiful sound. While I was looking at the Sovereign Grace Ministries blog earlier this week I can across a YouTube video from a SGM church in Mexico about how they are sharing the Gospel where they live. The video is a slide show of pictures of different evangelistic events the church did (for the full post: http://www.sovereigngraceministries.org/Blog/post/international-missions-update-Juarez-Mexico.aspx?utm_source=eNews&utm_campaign=c14b637bd1-eNews_2010_05_20&utm_medium=email). The pictures combined with the song in the background was so affecting!! The song was Mighty To Save in Spanish. I love to hear worship songs in other languages! They remind me of a time to come! "After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, "Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!" And all the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures, and they fell on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, saying, "Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and might be to our God forever and ever! Amen." (Revelation 7:9-12). Anyway, here is the video!

Happy Earth Day!
I want to take this opportunity to take about the politics involved in the environment. Your thoughts on the environment often depend on your political party affiliations. Most Democrats/liberals seem to care a lot about the environment, while most Republicans/conservatives don't think it's a big deal. I'm gonna tell you what I think of both sides of the argument.
I don't really believe in "global warming". I think the earth's temperature varies in cycles. BUT I do believe that God gave us this earth and we need to be good stewards of what He has given us. I'm most definitely not a tree hugger or an animal rights activist and I really don't like the outdoors all that much. I think we should drill for our own oil while tapping into other natural resources like solar and wind power. (The whole foreign oil dependency thing is really another topic for another post about national security.) Conservative values used to be all about the family: making the family strong and doing what we feel is best for future generations. Now it seems that all the Republicans are interested in is getting rich, even sometimes at the expense of their family life. There are a lot of things I could say that I don't agree with what the Democrats believe. But I think they have a little of it right when it comes to the environment. I do think we as citizens of the earth need to preserve it as best as we can. I think we should be careful that species don't become extinct and we should care for the forests. But one thing about the usual environmentalist that drives me absolutely CRAZY is their hypocrisy!!! Don't fly around on your private jet telling me to hang my clothes out to dry and ride my bike to work! Show what to do not just tell me. And many times they seem to care a lot more about the animals and plants then people. If someone wanted to get an abortion for their dog, boy we wouldn't hear the end of that! Yet there are almost 4,000 abortions daily in the US alone.
Ok so, the bottom line is this:
The crazy Democrats have just a little piece of it right. We do need to take care of the earth.

Random Post About Life
Life is crazy... There is so much going on right now! It's exciting and stressful. But more exciting. :)
So, I've been working on college application stuff. It's almost done. That's pretty exciting.
I've also been working on applying for scholarship so if I am accepted, I'll actually be able to go.
I'm super excited 'cause if everything works out, I'm going to Next with Katelyn!! (http://www.thisisnext.org/)
I'm on spring break right now and that makes me happy... Sunday I spent the night at my friend Tori's house. The next day we spent the day babysitting some stinkin' adorable kids. Then Tuesday I worked painted a reallllly nasty rental house all day. It felt good to cover all that grossness with paint. Today is my first day of rest and I'm sooo enjoying it!

The Valley of Vision: Need of Jesus
Lord Jesus,
I am blind, be thou me light,
ignorant, be thou my wisdom
self-willed, be thou my mind.
Open my ear to grasp quickly thy Spirit's voice,
and delightfully run after his beckoning had;
Melt my conscience that no hardness remain,
make it alive to evil's slightest touch;
When Satan approaches may I flee to they wounds,
and there cease to tremble at all alarms.
Be my good shepherd to lead me into the green pastures of the Word,
and cause me to lie down beside the rivers of its comforts.
Fill me with peace, that no disquieting worldly gales
may ruffle the calm surface of my soul.
Thy cross was upraised to be my refuge,
Thy blood streamed forth to wash me clean,
Thy death occurred to give me a surety,
Thy name is my property to save me,
By thee all heaven is poured into my heart,
but it is too narrow to comprehend thy love.
I was a stranger, an outcast, a slave, a rebel,
but thy cross has brought me near,
has softened my heart,
has made me thy Father's child
has admitted me to thy family,
has made me joint-heir with thyself.
O that I may love thee as thou lovest me,
that I may walk worthy of thee, my Lord,
that I may reflect the image of heaven's first-born.
May I always see thy beauty with the clear eye of faith,
and feel the power of they Spirit in my heart,
for unless he move mightily in me
no inward fire will be kindled.

Superbowl Add
Watch this video,
So, my opinion is that:
1. This lady is a butt and has absolutely no argument...
2. As Bill O'Reily pointed out, it isn't a 'pro-life' add. It's telling the story of Tim Tebow's birth.
3. This add is a freedom of speech issue. The freedom Focus on the Family has to make this add, the freedom of the Tebow family to tell their story and the freedom of the network to decide to air the add. All them have every right to do so.
So what are your thoughts on this?

I Know, I Know...
I'm lame... it's been six months. And I never even posted the pictures I promised. But in my defense my camera quit working in Haiti. I never even posted them on Facebook. Maybe I'll try sometime... when I'm bored. :P
So, I've been thinking about the future of the blog (like it has much of one :P). I was thinking I'd try to do at least one post a week. Sometimes on life, maybe a quote or scripture I found to be particularly good. Sometimes I might post about a book I enjoyed especially much or maybe I'll just talk about something I wanna say... I hope I can keep this up! :)
